CEMETERY RESTORATION PROJECT
Kiwanians volunteer to clean up an old graveyard.

Club members volunteer their time over three work days in late 2001 to clear our, clean up and restore the abandoned Mauvaisterre Cemetery located east of Jacksonville. This graveyard is the site of plots from the revolutionary war years, many of them children. The project consisted of cleaning out brush, cutting back growth and repairing tombstones. The project was originated and coordinated by Public & Business Affairs Chairman John Heinzman.hjm

The project is well underway at this pont with the cemetery cleared out and work progressing.
