Where is Jacksonville, Illinois? Located in west central Illinois, Jacksonville is situated at the intersection of U.S. Interstate 72 and U.S. Route 67. Jacksonville is approximately 30 minutes from the State capital of Springfield on I-72 West with four exits into town. We are about one hour east of Quincy on I-72 east. It takes about four hours to get from Chicago to Springfield on I-55 and 30 minutes to Jacksonville on I-72 west. The trip to Jacksonville from St. Louis, Missouri, is about two and a half hours on four-lane highways up I-55 north to Springfield and I-72 west to Jacksonville. A more direct two lane route up U.S. 67 north requires about two hours to drive.
