- The A.Wadsworth Applebee
- Comunity Service Award
- The First A. Wadsworth Applebee
Community Service Award
- was presented to Timothy W. Chipman
by Kiwanian Hobart R. Hinderliter.
-
- A. Wadsworth Applebee followed his father into Kiwanis in
1946 and served as District Governor in 1959, the only member
of our club ever to hold this high office.
-
- To honor his memory, the Jacksonville Kiwanis Club established
the A. Wadsworth Applebee Community Service Award in his nam.
The award is presented annually to recognize a young adult between
the ages of 21 and 35, who has demonstrated devotion to civic
volunteer service, thereby benefitting the Jacksonville area.

- A plaque bearing the names of all the recipients hangs on
the wall just outside the City Council Chambers in the Jacksonville
Municipal Building.
